Dear Lord

I'm feeling guilty as a parent because the care of my own mom (or dad) pulls me away from my child/children. I worry that my son/daughter feels neglected when I'm taking my parent to the doctor or attending to their other needs. Help me remember that unjustified guilt is not from You, but from the devil. I submit myself to You, Heavenly Father, and I resist the condemnation from the evil one. I stand on Your word that says the devil must flee when I align with You.

Despite my busy schedule and exhaustion, give me the time and ability to train my child/children according to Your heavenly standards, so that when they grow up, they will not stray from You.

Remind me of the blessings of caregiving. Use the moments I must temporarily sideline my child/children to care for my parent to foster in them a healthy independence. Instead of resentment, fill my child/children with hope, patience during the challenging days, and a heart that turns to You consistently in prayer.

In the name of Jesus, Amen
